'You and I' is my feel good, summertime type of song. There's no hidden meaning and life-altering metaphor tucked away in the lyric. It’s just a simple pop, love song. The chord progression is simple, with just a normal groove. Ironically, that's what I feel makes this song special.
Sometimes I write songs that are exactly what I'm going through and other times I'll write about what I want to feel or go through someday. My love songs tend to be the latter. This song is about being an encouragement for your wife. Or husband for all you ladies. We all go through hard times in our lives. Having someone that makes your day a little brighter makes it a little easier to get through those hard times.
