Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving!
I feel like I ask myself this question every single November…is it really almost Thanksgiving?! Where has the time gone? So many exciting things have happened this past year, both in my personal life and in my career. But along with excitement often comes busy-ness, and it gets difficult to find the time to focus on all of the blessings in my life. However, with the holidays upon us, I wanted to really stop and think about all that I’m thankful for. God has blessed me with more than I could have ever imagined…incredible friends, amazing fans, the gift of music, and the hope we have in Christ’s promise of salvation.
Before I go any further, I’d like to thank YOU…my fans. You have impacted me more than you will ever know. It’s because of you that I am living my dream. It’s because of you that I have the opportunity to spread the love of God through my music. I can’t thank you enough for your continuous encouragement and support. You spread the word about No Far Away, you helped me receive three Dove Awards, and I have never been in doubt that I have the best fans in the world. Also, thank you for joining me on The 7 Tour. It was such an honor to be a part of David Crowder Band’s final outing. Again, I can’t thank you enough for everything.
I’ll be recording my new album in early 2012, so keep an eye out for updates on the process! Also, be sure to keep checking the website for new touring info! I'll be on the road with the NewSong "Very Merry Christmas Tour" and would love to see you at a show.
Now that I’ve taken some time to give thanks, I’d love to hear what you’re thankful for! Leave me a comment below or on my Facebook page. Enjoy your Thanksgiving! Eat a turkey or two…or three. Talk to you soon!
Blessings,
Chris

Why So Serious???
Why So Serious???
This post is dedicated to everyone who actually thinks that by releasing “The Candy Wrap”, I am changing my style to rap…
I’m not even sure where to start. Oh…how about this… It is a JOKE!
I didn’t think I would need to make disclaimers, but then again, I did think that everyone had a sense of humor. So without further a due, here they are:
1. I am horrible at rapping. That’s why it’s a joke.
2. My next album will not be hip-hop. This song is a joke.
3. I don’t take myself too serious. I like jokes.
4. If you are offended that I have a song about candy…I don’t know what to tell you.
I love you. And candy. And a bunch of other stuff like basketball and soft pillows. All that to say, I am sorry I will no longer be doing my usual style of music anymore. I just feel that God is calling me to rap about candy, discounts and funny looking pets. Oh wait. Just kidding.
Sincerely,
Chris
Time Flies...
Time Flies...
It seems like just yesterday that I started recording my album with Ed Cash. 2010 flew by so quickly. I’m pretty sure I’ve been having fun. Everything is so fast paced that at times I forget to just stop and realize what I’m a part of. I got a wake up call a couple days ago. It came in the form of Dove Nominations. 5 of them. I still can’t believe it. I am so appreciative. I absolutely love God and I absolutely love making music. Being able to make music that glorifies God is…well…there aren’t words to express how I feel about that. The fact that other people for some reason are enjoying the music I make to glorify God… well…once again I’m lost for words. I will simply say… Thank you.
A Glimpse Into My Christmas
A Glimpse Into My Christmas
Christmas time is awesome. I do the same thing every year. I start by decorating my tree. Oh wait, I don’t have to. Why? Because it’s still up from last year. Yep. I left it up because it was so pretty. Why would I hide such an amazing piece of foliage in the attic? Not my style. After I have a staring contest with my tree, I turn my gaze to a brighter display of radiance. This is when I scour the town in search for the best arrangement of Christmas lights. It’s during this quest that I also hope to see Santa and his reindeer soaring through the midnight air bringing Christmas joy to everyone. Once I’m home I make a nice bowl of my original cookie paste. (See cooking with Chris videos for details). Of course I leave some out for Santa. He loves it. After I have devoured all the cookie paste one can handle, I fall gently asleep under the Christmas tree while pondering the same thing: I sure hope I get that life-size Empire State building I’ve always wanted.
Some of that is make believe. Part of it is true. All of it is awesome. But at the end of the day Christmas means more to me than just trading gifts, eating cookies, hoping to see Santa and even more than being with family and friends. It’s the time of year I celebrate my Savior’s birth. It started with a baby in a manger. Finished with a resurrection. Happy Birthday Christ, and Merry Christmas to you all.
Happy Turkey Day
Happy Turkey Day
Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite holidays. It reminds me of my family get-togethers. They were awesome. We watched the Dallas Cowboys, ate some turkey, and I would put black olives on each of my fingers and chase my sister around. Some things never change.
As I’m thinking about what I’m thankful for this year, a few things come to mind. I am definitely grateful for the amazing response to my music and for everyone who has supported me. I still can’t believe it. Thank you. I’m also thankful for the friends I have around me. I’ve been extremely blessed to have such great people in my life. More than anything I am thankful for God’s grace and mercy He has given me. I’m glad we have a God that doesn’t give up on us.
I’m looking forward to relaxing at home over the next few days. I will definitely be cheering for the Cowboys while eating some good food with some awesome friends. What are you thankful for? Write a comment below and let me know!
It's All In The Packing
It's All In The Packing
Being that I travel quite often for my job, luggage is an important thing to me. After an unfortunate handle break on my favorite bag, I had to search for a new one. I decided to purchase 'The Terminal' from OGIO. I absolutely love this bag. So much that I am writing a blog about it. No, this company does not sponsor me. I don't get anything free for writing this. I simply just think this is a great bag from a company who makes quality products. I recommend it to my fellow travelers.
First Time Ferry Ride
First Time Ferry Ride
I'll start by letting you know I am currently doing a northwest tour with Shawn McDonald. We had a show in Bremerton, WA last night so we decided to take the ferry over from Seattle. I'm sure there are many of you that ride ferry's all the time, but not me. This was actually my first time on a boat of this size. It was awesome. There were some great views of Seattle from the deck. Of course I took a couple iPhone pics. See at the bottom of this post.
Right before getting back into our car, I decided to get a little footage of the water. As I was scanning this beautiful view I happened to stumble upon a whale or sea lion or some creature in the water. I didn't even realize it was there until I was watching the video later in the night! Check it out.

there's something amazing about long drives. not just candy and music, but a certain sense of peace. you just tend to notice things you don't normally notice.
we're on our way to nebraska and after hours of driving the sun started to set. it got me thinking about clouds and what they seem to represent sometimes.
clouds can tend to hover over us like something negative in our lives, but without clouds, a sunset just wouldnt be as breathtaking.
maybe there's a reason clouds hang around. maybe there's a reason we go through what we do.
there can be beauty in the pain.
